According to research, how students read—not just what they read—matters!
My son brought home a progress report on Friday that made him and his parents very happy - lots of improvements made in terms of the organization of his written work, his math knowledge and reasoning, and his overall approach to academic tasks. We credit a lot of the improvement to the excellent teaching he's getting from your centre. Thank you very much! SLots of improvement
Zain and her team of tutors have been wonderful. Communication is always excellent, the level of the tutors is above expectation. They are kind and patient and made for an enjoyable session for my son.Armstrong
My daughter has been going to Oxford Learning for the past two years. She struggled with reading comprehension, which affected her understanding of most subjects. The staff at Oxford were very kind and patient with her, and set attainable goals for her. Each time she accomplished a goal, they celebrated her successes with her! Much to her own surprise, she scored higher than the provincial average on her EQAO testing for reading comprehension. The best successes are the intangible ones: she no longer gets frustrated and emotional doing homework, she no longer thinks poorly of herself academically and her confidence in class has increased dramatically! Oxford helped give her the tools to be successful and realize her full potential. I would highly recommend Oxford - Waterloo Eastbridge!. - JulieHighly Recommend

Zain is fabulous to work with. From the very beginning, her patience and genuine concern for children’s well-being and learning shone through. It was heartwarming to see Nancy interact with our child and nurture his confidence so that he may meet the necessary expectations. The learning materials are well laid out with content that interested our son, and reports were provided on a regular basis so that we could monitor his results. I can’t thank them enough for all of the support we received.A.Thompson★★★★★
Oxford Learning has been an incredible part of my daughter’s learning journey since kindergarten, and I can’t express how grateful we are for Zain and her amazing team. Zain’s warmth, dedication, and genuine care for her students go far beyond just tutoring—she truly invests in their success and confidence. Thanks to Oxford Learning, my daughter has grown so much academically, especially in math. She approaches it with confidence instead of fear, which is something I always struggled with as a child. The support and encouragement she receives here have made all the difference. Zain is always there to offer guidance, and her kindness extends beyond academics—my daughter especially looks forward to the thoughtful birthday and holiday treats she receives! The atmosphere at Oxford Learning is just as wonderful as the teaching. It’s cozy, welcoming, and full of life, with plants, seasonal decorations, inspirational quotes, and even snacks that make learning enjoyable. It’s a space where kids feel comfortable, motivated, and supported. No matter how long of a break we take, we always feel welcomed back with open arms. Oxford Learning isn’t just a tutoring center—it’s a place that truly nurtures a love of learning, and we are so lucky to have found it. Thank you, Zain, for everything you do! Every student’s program starts with our Dynamic Assessment, which determines how your child learns and which skills require the most support. It is essential for better understanding your child’s strengths and weaknesses and the unique ways they learn.
We are not just looking at academic results; our Dynamic Assessment helps us identify why your child is struggling so we can fix the problem.
The Dynamic Assessment looks at the test results and how your child is performing during the testing. Are they open to trying, or resistant and shut down? Are they nervous or engaged? These observations of your child under testing help us better understand your child as a learner.
Our assessment is dynamic because it adjusts according to your child’s responses. If your child shows capabilities in one area, we mark that level and move on. In this way, every student’s assessment experience will differ depending on their results.
The test is interactive. Some areas require drawing, manipulating objects, and repeating sentences to the assessor.
The test takes place in one of our assessment rooms, away from the main classroom. This way, your child can think clearly and is not distracted by other things happening in the centre.
The test can take up to two hours for older students—but it doesn’t have to be stressful! There’s no need to worry on test day: the assessment is not so much a test as it is an opportunity for your child to demonstrate what they know and what intellectual skills they possess.
The Dynamic Assessment allows us to understand where your child is academically, why your child is at that point, and how we can help move them forward.
The Dynamic Assessment results allow us to personalize a program specific to your child and begin …
The Dynamic Assessment is the first step in your child’s learning journey. It unlocks insights into what your child knows (academic skills) and their unique learning strengths and weaknesses (cognitive skills).
Personal Road Map for Success: The Assessment results provide a roadmap to create a personalized learning program for your child, telling us where to start and what areas to focus on most.
The assessment is a key part of your child’s program. Without the assessment, we are just taking our best guess at your child’s actual needs.
