Allison has been with Oxford Learning Waterloo since 2006. After a career as a professional ballerina and teaching English in Japan, she settled back in Waterloo and began as the Little Reader teacher. Her diploma in Early Childhood Education, her various degrees in Child Psychology, and her Master of Child Psychology have been a tremendous help while working with students. In 2007, Allison went on to be the Education Coordinator and then, in 2009, the Education Director before purchasing the centre in 2013. She loves to watch the students enjoying their time at Oxford Learning and reaching their potential. She is often found at the centre in the morning, often leaving by 5:30 pm to attend community events on behalf of the centre. In her spare time, she models, acts and sings. She loves to work out and attend basketball games, especially The KWTitans, our local professional team. She can be reached at 519-725-3577 or by email anytime: waterloo@oxfordlearning.com

Hi, my name is Shanelka Colahar, and I’m proud to call Oxford Learning Waterloo my home. I’m the Little Readers teacher who enjoys helping others learn and grow. I have been teaching for eight (8) years. I’m a University graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Jamaica. The best part of what I do is watching the kids light up when they learn something new. I’ve been in Canada since 2019, and when I’m not teaching, I enjoy cooking, listening to music and learning new things. I even enjoy the winters! My goal is to inspire the next generation to have confidence in their own abilities. I’ve recently been taking on some more administrative duties and look forward to meeting with some of you to share your child’s progress.

My name is Sydney, I've been with Oxford Learning Waterloo for a year now. This year I obtained my BSc degree at the University of Waterloo in the Honours Science program with a minor in Biology. Some things I love to do include travelling, hiking, kayaking, and reading. Helping students find the fun in learning and guiding them toward those “lightbulb moments” are the main reasons why I love teaching at Oxford Learning.

My name is Natalie. I've been with Oxford Learning Waterloo for over a year now. My love of books and writing started in childhood and allowed me to gain knowledge in many different areas. After completing my Honours Political Science degree, I worked as a professional technical and training writer for 14 years.
I love to help children learn how to read and write because these are such important skills to learn, both for personal enjoyment and also to succeed in whatever career path they choose to follow. Reading is also so much fun!
In my personal time, I like to spend time with my husband and our dog outdoors. I also love spending time with family and friends, playing with our dog and teaching her tricks, reading, painting, doing crafts, and gardening.

I recently graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a double major in Mathematics and Philosophy. This fall, I will pursue an MSc in Mathematics focusing on Mathematical Modelling at Laurier. I love working at Oxford Learning because it allows me to share the knowledge I've gained and pursue my passion for teaching. My ultimate goal is to become a mathematics professor, and my role as a math tutor at Oxford Learning will provide me with invaluable teaching experience that aligns with my aspirations. In my leisure time, you'll often find me at the gym, scaling rock climbing walls, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or curled up in a cozy spot with a good book.
