Exceptional Tutoring Programs In . . . Leaside

Aside from being the Centre Director at Oxford Learning Leaside, Greg is a seasoned marketing executive with over 15 years of leadership experience in telecommunications and advertising. He has held VP roles at Rogers Communications and BIMM/Sid Lee. Greg holds an MBA from Ivey Business School and is known for his strategic vision and data-driven approach. In his spare time, he's a parent to two children, Charlotte (14) and Thomas (12), so acts like a personal Uber driver to them. He also serves as Assistant Coach with the Leaside Flames hockey organization.  

Genna Visconti brings over six years of experience working with children and youth in educational and therapeutic settings. As Education Coordinator at Oxford Learning Leaside, she administers cognitive and academic assessments while coaching tutors on effective teaching methods. With a BA in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University and a diploma in Recreational Therapy from Canadore College, Genna specializes in creating supportive learning environments where students can thrive.

Jen brings 19 years of educational leadership to her role as Education Coordinator. As Drama Department Head and French teacher with the York Region District School Board, she developed a deep understanding of high school students' needs and learning styles—experience she now channels into creating engaging educational programs.

Jen holds a BA from the University of Waterloo and a BEd from York University. When she's not developing curriculum, you'll find her hiking, tackling escape rooms, or at home with her two exceptionally talkative cats.

Cassidy joined the Oxford Learning team in March 2022. She recently graduated summa cum laude with an Honours degree in Philosophy from York University and is now pursuing her Master’s in Philosophy at York, with a continued interest in exploring the intersections of ethics and law.

Having once been a student at Oxford Learning herself, she understands firsthand the confidence, curiosity, and core skills this environment cultivates. Her goal as a team member is not only to support academic growth but also to help students feel seen, encouraged, and capable.

At Oxford Learning, she strives to go beyond the traditional role of a tutor. Whether working in person or over Zoom, she aims to be a thoughtful mentor and a consistent, positive presence in her students’ learning journeys. Outside of work, she's passionate about the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, loves to bake, and takes immense pride in being the best aunt she can be to her two nieces and four nephews.

Brian has been fortunate enough to tutor at Oxford Learning Leaside since early 2006, with a bit of a break during COVID-19.

He mainly focuses on math and physics and looks forward to teaching Computer Science whenever possible, as that was his undergraduate degree from York University. He is grateful to have had the opportunity throughout his career to apply his skills and learnings to solve real-life problems wherever he works.

He enjoys bringing his diverse work experience to his tutoring sessions to enlighten the students on the application of what they learn whenever they ask, "When would I ever use that...?!"

He has met some wonderful people throughout his life who have been key to his growth and development, and he takes advantage of every opportunity to "pay it forward."

He believes that we don't need to know the answers to every problem in the world, but we need to be resourceful and curious enough to pursue them.

His passions are electronic music, movies and cars (at least driving them), and he loves spending time with his family, now expanded to 4 beautiful dogs!

Misha completed her French Studies Concurrent Education degree at York University, Glendon Campus. As of September 2025, he has startedTeachers College as an aspiring French teacher. Outside of education, her passions and hobbies include drawing, playing competitive soccer, listening to music, speaking French, hanging out with friends, and going on hikes with her two dogs.

Caroleen is in her third year at Glendon Campus, York University, studying in the Concurrent Education Program. She's majoring in French Studies and minoring in math, with aspirations of becoming a teacher! She enjoys working with kids and helping them build confidence in their schoolwork. With experience from various summer camps, in-class placements, and tutoring, she has a solid background in supporting younger learners. She's excited to help students thrive academically and personally. In her free time, she enjoys baking, playing soccer, and spending quality time with her friends, family and doggy! 

Caroleen has a strong background working with young learners through summer camps, classroom placements, and tutoring. What she loves most about teaching is watching students grow academically and personally as they gain confidence in their abilities.

Outside the classroom, you'll find Caroleen baking, playing soccer, or spending time with my friends, family, and dog!

Emma is currently pursuing her degree in French Studies and Concurrent Education at York University's Glendon College. Fluent in French and an emergency supply teacher with the Toronto District School Board, Emma brings extensive experience working with children across various settings. As a gymnastics coach with the City of Toronto since 2021, she's skilled at creating engaging lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and adapting instruction to meet individual needs. Her background as a camp counsellor and her work with special needs athletes have strengthened her ability to connect with diverse learners.

Emma's patient, organized approach helps students build confidence while mastering new skills.

Fiorella is completing her Honours Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at York University, where she has gained extensive experience in software development through internships at TD Bank and Appgen Studio. With a strong foundation in programming languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript, Fiorella brings technical expertise and problem-solving skills to her teaching. She's passionate about making STEM subjects accessible and engaging, drawing from her experience organizing events to promote women's representation in technology fields.

When she's not teaching, Fiorella volunteers as an IT Executive for ElleHacks, a hackathon dedicated to empowering women in tech.

Flora is pursuing her Master of Science in Occupational and Public Health, building on her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Toronto Metropolitan University. With a passion for math, science, and French, she's committed to creating a supportive, judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks in their learning.

When she's not teaching, Flora can be found on the slopes snowboarding or on the pickleball court with friends.

Marlon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto, where he graduated with a 3.82 GPA and earned multiple scholarships for academic excellence. After working as a Structural Dynamics Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Canada, Marlon discovered his true passion: mentoring and teaching. His strong foundation in math and science, combined with experience as a Teaching Assistant at Digital Media Academy and counsellor at U of T's Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program, makes him uniquely equipped to help students tackle challenging STEM concepts.

Marlon has always been the go-to person for friends and classmates seeking help with difficult coursework, and he brings that same approachable, supportive energy to his tutoring.

Troy Loewen is an Honours Bachelor of Science graduate in Immunology from the University of Toronto (3.96 GPA), with two years of research experience at The Hospital for Sick Children investigating cancer biology and childhood rheumatic diseases. He earned the Top Poster Presentation award at the 2025 Synergy Cancer Research Conference.

Troy is a passionate educator with over seven years of teaching experience. He founded his own tutoring business serving 40+ students and worked as a Math and Science Teacher at Oxford Learning Centre, where his targeted approach helped students achieve an average score improvement of 20%. He brings both scientific expertise and genuine care for student success to his teaching, using active learning strategies to help students master challenging concepts.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a focus on math and computer science. While at the university, he had the chance to have both classes and volunteer opportunities focusing on STEM education. As a tutor, he finds a balance between answering specific student questions and teaching more holistic learning strategies. As a hobby, he enjoys doing competition-style math questions, having written contests in high school and throughout his undergrad. In his free time, he enjoys video games, manga, and video essays.

Kaiya Dancey is thrilled to be one of the teachers at Oxford Learning Leaside. She is studying at Glendon Campus of York University. She is currently working toward receiving a bilingual bachelor of arts degree in honours psychology. Once obtaining her degree, she plans to attend a teacher’s college for primary/junior in order to become an elementary school teacher. Over the years, she has acquired experience working in childcare and education in many diverse settings and jobs. Whether it was volunteering at daycare programs, taking co-op placements in elementary school classrooms, or working as a monitor at an overnight language camp, teaching French as a second language in Montreal, she has always had a love for teaching and encouraging young students to reach their full potential! Some fun facts about her are that she plays on a volleyball team in her free time and that she knows how to play the tenor saxophone!
