Summer Camps & Programs at Oxford Learning Montréal NDG

Summer Camp for Kindergarten-Grade 6

A Summer Camp That Builds Real Skills

Welcome to the first-ever Oxford Learning summer camp! We are thrilled to announce an academic-based camp to help students beat the summer brain loss they often experience! Students lose 27% of their school-year math knowledge and 20% of their reading skills over the summer! The best way to beat this is to invest in some summer learning to make sure all students get back to school with the right knowledge, skills and motivation!

Our Oxford Learning camp is the answer! Our camp is unique in its ability to mix educational activities with fun! During their time with us, children will participate in 2 hours of Oxford Learning classes in either French, English, or math, as well as oral communication practice. Along with their learning, students will participate in our weekly themed arts, science, and movement activities.

  • Daily academic instruction in French, English, or math
  • Personalized learning at your child’s level
  • Fun, themed activities that reinforce learning
Daily Structure:
Academic time
Creative activities

Learning Test

Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential with a Learning Style and Achievement Test at Oxford Learning Montreal NDG

Every student’s program starts with a learning style and achievement test, which determines how your child learns and which skills require the most support. It is essential for better understanding your child’s strengths and weaknesses and the unique ways they learn.

We are not just looking at academic results; our Learning Style and Achievement Test helps us identify why your child is struggling so we can fix the problem.

Our Learning Style and Achievement Test includes:

  • Insight into WHY your child is struggling
  • A portion that helps us better understand how your child thinks and learns
  • An academic portion that lets you know where your child stands academically
  • Valuable insight into how your child performs in testing situations

Why Do We Call it Dynamic?

The Learning Style and Achievement Test looks at the test results and how your child is performing during the testing. Are they open to trying, or resistant and shut down? Are they nervous or engaged? These observations of your child under testing help us better understand your child as a learner.

Unique

Our learning style and achievement test is dynamic because it adjusts according to your child’s responses. If your child shows capabilities in one area, we mark that level and move on. In this way, every student’s assessment experience will differ depending on their results.

Interactive

The test is interactive. Some areas require drawing, manipulating objects, and repeating sentences to the assessor.

Quiet

The test takes place in one of our testing rooms, away from the main classroom. This way, your child can think clearly and is not distracted by other things happening in the centre.

Stress-Free

The test can take up to three hours for older students—but it doesn’t have to be stressful! There’s no need to worry on test day: the evaluation is not so much a test as it is an opportunity for your child to demonstrate what they know and what intellectual skills they possess.

The Learning Style and Achievement Test allows us to understand where your child is academically, why your child is at that point, and how we can help move them forward.

The Learning Style and Achievement Test results allow us to personalize a program specific to your child and begin …

  • improving academic skills,
  • building cognitive strength,
  • and boosting learning confidence.

The First Step in Your Child’s Learning Journey

The Learning Style and Achievement Test is the first step in your child’s learning journey. It unlocks insights into what your child knows (academic skills) and their unique learning strengths and weaknesses (cognitive skills).

Personal Road Map for Success: The Testing results provide a roadmap to create a personalized learning program for your child, telling us where to start and what areas to focus on most.

The testing is a key part of your child’s program. Without the assessment, we are just taking our best guess at your child’s actual needs.
