Caitlin has been working in the Oxford Learning system for nearly 14 years, and is devoted to her profession. Caitlin cares deeply about the well-being of her staff and students, and it is this compassion and support that have built the foundation for success in her Oxford Learning centres.
In addition to this new Appleby-Dundas location, Caitlin has been the Co-Owner and Centre Director of Oxford Learning Oakville North for the last 9 years. Caitlin and her incredible team are dedicated to making a difference, and as such, go above and beyond for every child.
Caitlin’s commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for her staff and students has propelled her Oakville North location into the top 2 ranking of all Oxford Learning centres in Canada (sometimes #1!) This award-winning location excels because its team of passionate educators always do what’s best for their students.
Caitlin has decided to open a second location because she has seen the difference Oxford Learning has made for thousands of kids in her Oakville centre. She wants to provide this same exemplary support to the students in Burlington, where her own kids attend school.
In February 2025, Caitlin was awarded the EFCA100's 2025 Franchisee Outstanding Achievement award, which was an award given to the one franchisee across Canada’s top 100 franchises whose journey “not only exemplifies personal success, but also serves as an inspiration to others..they elevate the profile of franchising within the broader community.” As a result of her success in Oakville, Caitlin was also asked to be the keynote speaker for a major Canadian franchise this summer - stay tuned for the company name!
In the Oxford Learning system, Caitlin volunteers on the Franchisee Advisory Council (6+ years) and actively participates in Oxford Learning’s mentorship initiatives. Caitlin strongly believes in helping everyone around her and finds great value and fulfillment in supporting her fellow franchisees so that they, too, may find success.
My name is Andrew and I am the Centre Director and co-owner of this location, Appleby-Dundas, as well as Oakville North. I have been with the Oxford Learning Company since 1998 and have thoroughly enjoyed having the privilege of being an influential part of the Oakville community for over 25 years. I have had the pleasure of supporting students, ages 3-18, in developing stronger thinking and learning skills.
Apart from my time at Oxford Learning, I am also a grandfather of 6! In my spare time, I enjoy going up to the cottage with my family. I am an avid fisher, boater, and stamp collector. I am known for my funny stories amongst our staff, so if you ever catch me on a visit to the centre, be sure to ask me to share one!
My name is Kira, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas team!
I have a specialization in English Studies and a major in Child and
Family Studies from Nipissing University, where I also earned my Bachelor of Education. My approach to teaching is rooted in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to explore their curiosities and build their confidence. I believe every student is a genius, and it is our job as educators to help students reach their full potential. I aim to build meaningful connections with my students to support their individual growth and development. Outside of teaching, I love spending time outdoors enjoying nature and being around animals. I’m passionate about baking and enjoy experimenting with new recipes. Art is another big hobby of mine, and I love being creative. I’m always reading something new, and I love getting book recommendations!
Fun Facts: I love banana pudding, and my favorite things to bake are cinnamon rolls and cookies. I have a polydactyl cat which means he has extra toes! I love reading graphic novels and comic books. My favourite animal is the hippopotamus, and my favourite word is
hippomonstrosesquippedaliophobia (which is the fear of long words!).
My name is Amna, and I’m a high school teacher at Burlington Appleby-Dundas Oxford Learning.
I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science at York University and have extensive knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Functions. I’m excited to use my expertise to help students excel in their learning journey! I love witnessing those moments in a student’s learning where my guidance transforms their critical thinking skills and boosts their confidence. I truly adore working at Oxford Learning and look forward to making a lasting impact on every student I teach. As a young woman in STEM, I’ve gone through the process of learning and adapting to complex concepts in math and science, and I understand the challenges that can come with it. I’m eager to create a supportive environment where students feel confident navigating their academic journey, and I’m here to help them overcome those difficulties—together.
Some fun facts about me: I love drawing, going to the gym, shopping, going for lakeside walks and iced coffee! I’m also a big Lana Del Rey fan and love checking out cozy cafes in my free time!
My name is Areej, and I’m an elementary teacher at Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas.
I recently graduated from McMaster University with a major in Psychology and Human Behaviour. Teaching has always been a passion of mine—I love helping students not only succeed academically, but also develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive. One of my favourite parts of teaching is watching students realize that learning can be exciting and fun when they have the right tools and support. I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment that supports each student’s unique learning journey.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, going to the gym, listening to music, and trying new foods!
A few fun facts about me: I’m a big fan of cats, my go-to drink is matcha, and my all-time favourite movie is The Dark Knight Rises.
My name is Mohid and I’m a math tutor at Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas.
I'm currently pursuing a computer science degree with a minor in mathematics, and plan to pursue a degree in pure maths after completing my undergraduate in computer science.
For most of my life, I never considered myself that great at math, and at one point even believed I wasn’t good at it at all. That was until I met my 12th grade calculus teacher; it was thanks to him that I gained a deep appreciation for all types of math and started to enjoy learning it. It was clear how much my teacher loved his job and pushing kids to succeed, and it was because of this that I was able to find something I was passionate about.
From there, I took as many math courses as I could in university and decided that I was going to pursue a math degree after completing computer science. I’ve struggled a lot throughout my education. I know how difficult some concepts can be to grasp, but it was because of the support that I had that I’m able to now enjoy my learning. I became a tutor because I want to help students feel the same way about their education, inspire them to find something they can be passionate about, and help show them that they’re capable of pursuing those goals.
Fun facts about me: I enjoy working out, my favourite sport is hockey, and I have a cat named Mano.
My name is Kate, and I am a passionate and dedicated educator at Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph, where I also completed a Minor in Philosophy. More recently, I completed my Bachelor of Education at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in Advanced Psychology, Mental Health, and Special Education. My academic journey has shaped my commitment to student well-being and effective learning, and I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education, specifically in the field of Curriculum and Pedagogy.
With a strong passion for developing enhanced literacy and math programs for elementary students, I aim to create an environment where every child feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to thrive. I believe that a positive and safe learning atmosphere is essential for fostering curiosity and confidence, and I am deeply committed to helping each student reach their full potential!
Beyond the classroom, I am an avid reader, a runner, and someone who enjoys being active. I love going to the movies, spending time with my family, and I have a lifelong passion for the arts, having been involved in drama and dance for many years. Giraffes are one of my favourite animals, and I dream of one day going on an African Safari to see them in the wild!
I am excited to be part of the Oxford Learning team, where I can combine my diverse educational background and passion for teaching to make a positive impact on the students I work with.
My name is Zainab, and I’m a high school tutor here at Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas!
I’m currently studying Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University, which has given me a strong foundation in both analytical thinking and problem-solving. I've always enjoyed teaching, and I've had the opportunity to work with students in subjects like robotics, math, and physics over the past year. Helping students build confidence in themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. I love being able to support students through challenges and seeing that moment when a tough concept finally clicks. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and aren’t afraid to make mistakes along the way.
Fun facts: I enjoy reading, trying new foods, spending time with friends and family, and travelling! Some of my favourite places I’ve been to are Turkey, Italy, and Pakistan (which is where I’m from!) I also love a good iced coffee; my favourite season is fall.
My name is Addie, and I am very excited to be a part of the Appleby-Dundas Oxford Learning Center team as an elementary school teacher!
I believe that learning should be fun and accessible to all different types of student, and I find great joy in seeing my students' confidence and independence grow as they make progress.
I pursued an Honours of BSocSc in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa, and recently completed a MSc in Capacity Development and Extension from the University of Guelph. I hope to use these degrees to create changes in educational policies and approaches amongst institutions so education can become more accessible worldwide!
Much like teaching, learning is a deep passion of mine. I love to learn new things and create new hobbies such as aerial hoop, crochet, and learning new instruments. However, my favourite thing to learn about is different cultures around the world, which I do through travelling and trying new food!
My name is Urooj, and I’m a high school science teacher at Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas, specializing in chemistry.
I recently graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Life Sciences degree. I’ve always been passionate about making science enjoyable and approachable for students, especially subjects that can seem intimidating at first. I love breaking down complex concepts into clear, engaging lessons and watching students build confidence as they master new skills. Seeing students discover real-world connections in science and get excited about learning is one of the best parts of what I do.
Outside the classroom, you’ll usually find me exploring new coffee spots, reading, or watching movies.
My name is Bogdan, I have graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelors of Science in mathematics and physics and I am thrilled to be part of the Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas team!
My main goal is to make the world of mathematics and physics more accessible to everyone, as there is more to these subjects than just mindless formulas and calculations. Behind every formula or statement there is a series of statements - like a cooking recipe - which is meant to convince you through logic that the formula or statement is true. Mathematics at its fundamental core is based on philosophical ideas and statements which we assume are true no matter what. (If you are curious, search up Peano's Axioms). These ideas build upon one another, like a tree which never stops growing!
As an aside of what I mean, here is a short proof of the statement: "There is no largest number." Suppose that we can write the largest number down (you can write down the largest number you can think of). Well, we can always add one to any number we choose, so let's add 1 to the largest number we wrote down. Now this new number is the largest number, which contradicts our original assumption! This is an example of a proof by contradiction - we assume the statement to be true, but in the end, through logic, we end up with a fallacy, meaning that the original statement is false! This example is no different then debunking an absurd statement like "all cats must be brown". We just need to find a cat that is not brown to prove it false!
My teaching philosophy follows the old adage: "Give a man a fish, and he will be fed for the day, but teach a man how to fish, and he will be fed for life". There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing students grow and succeed past their perceived abilities.
My goal at Oxford is not just to help the students out with their understanding, but also to be the voice of encouragement, which allows them to push through intimidating steps, such as the transition from high school to university. If a student is curious about further applications of a specific topic, I will try my best to find an interesting one, as leaving students curious will encourage them to discover more information by themselves. I want students to leave with a positive outcome, knowing that they will succeed in their future endeavours.
Outside of teaching and academics, I am also passionate about nature, camping, fishing and hunting. I love the outdoors as much as the indoors and travelling to new places, especially remote communities, as it opens up a new perspective on how people live day to day. What never gets old is listening to the 90s and early 2000s essential mixes by Paul Oakenfold while cruising on the highway to and from Sudbury.
Hi, my name is Layann, and I am delighted to be a teacher at the Oxford Learning Appleby-Dundas Centre!
I am deeply passionate about helping students build confidence in their learning and discover that academic challenges are not limitations, but opportunities for growth. With patience and encouragement, I meet students exactly where they are in their learning journey. My approach to teaching is rooted in connection and adaptability. I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and developing independence. Every child can thrive with the right support!
As a former competitive student athlete, I understand the demands of balancing rigorous extracurricular commitments alongside academic responsibilities and can thus really guide students as they navigate multiple priorities. Outside of the learning center, my priorities include earning my Bachelor's of Business at McMaster University and educating university students about global health challenges and mobilizing meaningful, community-driven action as Co-President of the McMaster chapter of Partners in Health Canada.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering, hiking, reading, cooking and travelling. I also love learning new languages as a gateway to culture. I currently speak English, Arabic, and French fluently and next on the list is Spanish! I am always eager to keep learning, considering it a great joy and responsibility to grow!
I’m Alexus, and I’m so excited to be joining the Appleby-Dundas Oxford Learning Center team as an elementary school teacher!
I hold a degree in Sociology from the University of Guelph and am currently completing my first year of Teachers College at Redeemer University. With over five years of experience as an Educational Assistant, I have had the opportunity to support learners with diverse needs and learning styles. These experiences have shaped my belief that every child deserves to feel supported, challenged, and encouraged in their learning journey.
I aim to foster a classroom where every student feels supported, inspired, and eager to learn. Watching learners grow in confidence and reach their full potential is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy going to the gym, reading, and getting creative through crocheting, doodling, and colouring. I also love travelling and exploring new places whenever I can. When the weather is warm, you can usually find me walking or playing with my miniature long-haired dachshund, Chorizo, at the park.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know my students, building a classroom full of curiosity and creativity, and being part of such a supportive and inspiring team!
We feel so lucky to have found Oxford Learning Burlington. Our 6-year-old daughter has struggled with English and reading, but since joining, her confidence and skills have grown so much. The programs are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to each child’s needs. The teaching team is fantastic— warm, engaging, and always finding ways to build confidence in their students. It’s clear the instructors are carefully chosen for their expertise and passion for teaching.
Caitlin, the director, is truly exceptional—her passion, expertise, and dedication are reflected in every aspect of the center. The environment she’s built is warm, supportive, and inspiring. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high-quality instruction with genuine care.
I would highly recommend this center to any parent looking to help their child thrive.

Thank you so much for all that you have done for D and our family. We came to you at a time where we were struggling to support our son, and D truly lacked the confidence and ability to be successful in school.
The support you and your team provided has meant so much to us. You surpassed my expectations and you truly did exactly what you said you would do. I expected 80% in all courses and am over the moon that D is achieving over 90% at midterm. He even got 100% on his last chemistry test! CRAZY!
Caitlin, your team is amazing; however, YOU are a big reason why our son has improved so much. You provided support, encouragement, comfort, and most importantly, you believed in him. You knew what he was capable of and showed D and us.
I am teary as I write this because I am so proud of our son. I think he has a bright future ahead and knows that he can reach for the stars!

“An Amazing Experience for Our Kids!”
Our kids (in Grades 4 & 7) started at Oxford Learning Centre in July, and we’ve been impressed by the transformation in such a short time. In the past, tutoring has often been a struggle, but this experience has been completely different — they’re actually excited to attend every session!
The teachers are incredible — supportive, engaging, and truly invested in helping students succeed. Both of our kids have already built strong connections with their instructors and, based on recent assessments, we’ve seen noticeable improvements in their academic standings.
We’re so impressed with the positive environment Oxford Learning has created, and we are excited to see how this journey continues to shape their confidence and long-term academic success. Highly recommend!

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to this amazing learning facility. I had my son and daughter both go through the Oxford Learning program (Nottinghill, Oakville) during their high school years. My kids are worlds apart. Two extremes.
I am sure many of you can relate. My son, disliked school and could barely get a passing grade. How did Oxford Learning help? Gave him the confidence to be able to understand the material. They took the time to understand how he learns and his personality. The match was made with the right tutor and that is where the magic happens. His experience was priceless. He graduated high school and went on to college and has been thriving.
My daughter, on the other hand, is an overachiever. She is on the other spectrum, where she loves to learn but wants to maintain her high average to keep all doors open. She was matched with a tutor who majored in the sciences. She used the time to ask hard questions and truly understand the material. This took a different approach, and Caitlin’s team successfully met the challenge. She is graduating in a few months with a few university options, and OxfordLearning is helping with the decision process as well.
Both stories are so important because no two kids are the same. Caitlin has created an environment that allows kids to achieve, grow, and build confidence. The model works, but the people make it a success.
I am so thrilled that Caitlin is now opening her second location on Appleby and Dundas. Congratulations!

My son, who is currently in Grade 10, has been at Oxford Learning tutoring since Grade 4. The team at Oxford Learning has been fabulous with him and has helped him tremendously, recognizing his learning style. They are open to suggestions from parents and provide ongoing and timely feedback. I also particularly like that they review his report cards from school to try to further enhance his learning and improve his school grades. They are also very flexible in scheduling adjustments, including make-up classes. They respond to emails and phone calls in a very timely manner. Overall, it has been a fabulous experience. Thank you all!

How wonderful that Caitlin has opened a second location in Burlington. Our experience with Caitlin and her team in Oakville is beyond our expectations. All the teachers are experts in their subjects. The kids do their homework or can work to get ahead in their subjects by working in the Oxford Learning workbooks. Most importantly, the kids enjoy going to Oxford Learning. The atmosphere is fun, and the kids make new friends.
My kids went to Francophone school and were equally supported very well. In Grade 12, the centre also provides support for university programs. I still thank Caitlin for researching and recommending my daughter’s Chemical and Physical Sciences Gateway university program at McMaster. This was a life-changing opportunity for a young woman. Thank you, Caitlin, and to all the teachers and members of your staff. The staff helps me almost daily with scheduling and ensuring my child has extra tutoring when needed, such as when there are tests or exams. For example, some provincial exams are coming up. Sarah and Hannah organized extra classes that week. Caitlin and her entire staff always respond immediately, so we can feel comfortable with our requests. I really like the fact that the kids can even review their test results with their teachers at Oxford Learning. The overall environment for the kids and us parents is welcoming and safe, and very positive, of course! Please register your kids at Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas with complete confidence.

Our family experience with Oxford Learning has been nothing more than excellent. I have two kids who both attended with very different needs. No two kids are the same; this means the way they learn is different. Oxford Learning focuses on the root of each child and how to make learning more enjoyable. My son needed a great deal of help. When I brought him in, he had just finished Grade 9 and was failing key courses. Oxford Learning saw something in him that he did not see in himself (and neither did we). After a short time, he started feeling more confident and graduated from high school successfully. My daughter, on the other hand, is an overachiever. She needed a different approach and a different type of learning plan. The amazing team working for Caitlin are passionate, and their love for learning is evident. This team's dynamic approach to helping kids gain self-confidence is the key to success. I would recommend Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas to anyone who wants a unique and fool-proof approach to education!

Not all centres are the same. I can attest to this. Caitlin and her team at Oxford Learning goes beyond the basics. They provide exceptional guidance and support to each student that goes through their door in a way that is responsive to the student's needs. In more than one occasion they responded to my child's call for help despite the short notice, even while my child was not enrolled in any of their programs at the time. They are super reliable. They always find a way to assist! Above all, they share my desire to see my child grow and develop. They actually see my child, instead of the dollar sign attached to just having another client.

I can't say enough good things about this team from Oxford Learning! Over 6 years, my two children were tutored at Oxford Learning North in Oakville, and they both benefited greatly from the experience. Caitlin and Kelly-Anne are tireless supporters of their students and full of endless positive energy--you can't help but feel motivated and encouraged with them in your corner. My kids never had a bad word to say about anyone there, and even if they were struggling with a subject they didn't particularly enjoy, they still enjoyed being part of the vibe and enjoyed the experience. I wholeheartedly believe that choosing this team from Oxford Learning, whether in Oakville or now in Burlington, is an excellent choice for your child's learning.

Our son enrolled in Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas in April 2025 because he was struggling in Grade 10 academic math. Caitlin and her team at Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas assessed his strengths and struggles. The tutors were quick to tailor tutoring to meet his individual needs. We are overjoyed that our son's mark improved by an impressive 12% by the end of the term. His math teacher even noticed our son's confidence improving by the end of the term. We are so pleased with our son's progress and feel that he has been given the tools to tackle new concepts in math going forward.
Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas also provided great support to our son as he is working on developing his writing skills. Caitlin provided great support and guidance through the process of writing an essay in his summer school Grade 11 English course. What started as an overwhelming task became manageable. He excelled in the end and built skills and confidence for future essays and assignments!
We would absolutely recommend Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby-Dundas to any student looking for extra support with improving in a specific subject area or boosting their overall performance. It was the best decision we could have made!
Thank you, Caitlin, for always going above and beyond to support our son's needs and your amazing team of tutors!

We have tried various Burlington tutoring centres in the last few years, and none comes close to what Caitlin offers at Oxford Learning. She is the true star of the business! Her passion and love for supporting, caring, and building up my daughter truly shine through. My daughter loves going to classes, which was definitely not the case for the other centres.
I'm so glad Caitlin chose to open up her centre in Burlington North. She has become our support system, and we are grateful.

Upon learning that she is opening a new centre in Burlington, I am happy to support and recommend any centre run by her team. She is accommodating to her staff, and it's extremely rewarding working for her. The students receive the best care and attention, and have achieved great success at her Oakville location. I was a student at the Oxford Learning Oakville Centre, and it truly felt like a second home to me. The support I received there not only helped me academically but also gave me the confidence to reach my full potential. The management team was always supportive, ensuring that every student had the resources and guidance they needed to succeed.
The tips and strategies I learned at Oxford Learning have stuck with me—I still use them to this day, and they’ve played a huge role in how far I’ve come academically. The communication was always clear, the environment was welcoming, and the tutors genuinely cared about each student’s progress.
I highly recommend the Oxford Learning Oakville Centre to anyone looking for a place that goes beyond tutoring—a place that helps students see their true capabilities and achieve their goals. I wouldn’t have made it through my college years without the foundation they gave me!

Both of my children have attended the Oakville North Oxford Learning location over the last 5 years, and we have had a truly wonderful experience. Although we cannot speak to this Burlington location, the owners of this new Burlington centre are the same franchisees who own the Oxford Learning centre that my child attends, and I have no doubt that this Appleby-Dundas location will be able to provide a comparably phenomenal service.
The teachers are thoughtful, passionate about teaching, and truly care about their students. The management team in Oakville North is EXCELLENT, and it is apparent every day how seriously they take their roles and how much they love their roles too! The staff are here for the kids, first and foremost, and you can feel it as soon as you walk into the centre.
I am excited for the families who decide to enrol in the Burlington Appleby-Dundas location!! It will be one of the best things you do for your kids.

Overall, they are lovely, knowledgeable and highly enthusiastic people, and I would highly recommend anyone who has kids in elementary or high school.

Oxford Learning Center in West Oakville (now opening a location in Burlington) has been an invaluable part of my children's education. My youngest son attended from Grade 1 through Grade 12—at his own request. Every August, I’d ask if he wanted to continue, and every year, his answer was a resounding “yes.” He told me that Oxford gave him confidence in class, especially in math, because he already understood the material before it was taught at school. Today, he is thriving as a second-year Commerce student at Queen’s University.
Each child is different, but I firmly believe that Oxford played a role in building my son’s academic success and self-confidence. My two older sons also attended Oxford during high school. One is now a lawyer, and the other is excelling in corporate sales.
Beyond academics, the administrative staff at Oxford Learning Center in West Oakville are incredibly kind, caring, and a pleasure to work with. They truly have the students’ best interests at heart. I highly recommend Oxford Learning Center to any parent looking to support their child’s education and confidence.

Last year, one of my Grade 12 students in my Oakville North location, Zakarya Byr-Kdar, tragically passed away. It was a devastating loss, and one that is felt every day.
Zakarya was a student who touched the lives of countless people. He championed inclusivity and belonging within his school, and enriched his community through acts of kindness and service toward others. The world was a better place because of Zakarya.
Amid the devastation of this loss is an example of how to conduct ourselves in this world. Zakarya is a model for all of us, and with his passing, has encouraged us to act with even greater care for our community and make a difference whenever we can.
In honour of our student, Zakarya Byr-Kdar, we have partnered with Zakarya’s mother, Oksana Kachmar, to create a scholarship in Zakarya's name and likeness.
The scholarship is worth a minimum of $5,000.00 this year, and is for students pursuing Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, or Life Sciences in their post-secondary studies.
Last year, the scholarship was offered to graduating students at Zakarya’s school, White Oaks Secondary in Oakville, but Oksana has decided to extend the scholarship to all graduating students in the Halton Region this year (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Georgetown).
