My name is Coreena L.A.J. Cameron, and I have been called Co, Ina, Coreen or CLAJC as nicknames, so feel free to call me as you wish, I am happy with all of them. I have been a stay at home Mom for the past almost 5 years. I attended both Mount Royal University (when it was Mount Royal College) and the University of Calgary and studied how to speak, read and write Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and the Korean languages. I also studied East Asian culture, Art and History in the East Asian Language Department. I even had the wonderful opportunity to speak on the Calgary Japanese Radio station for one get-together, but was very shy and didn't speak too much. While attending University I did many language exchanges with friends who were international students studying English as a second language. Usually, they spoke one of the languages that I was also studying. We practiced in all kinds of settings around the city, and this is where I first ignited my spark for tutoring. I had originally planned to attend University as a stepping stone towards attending Waseda University in Japan to become a Manga Artist, but the world had a different plan for my skills. I am very happy it did. I enjoy helping others to achieve their goals whether it be in customer service, academics or their jobs. I worked in customer service, retail and restaurants for most of my life, and enjoyed every minute of them. I truly enjoy seeing someone smile when they gain something, whether it be knowledge, confidence, a product or their chosen meal. I found after I'd finished University, I really wanted to focus on my tutoring and have been volunteer tutoring for many friends, or friends of friends by word of mouth. If you include the 5 years while I was in University, I'd say I've been tutoring mostly adults one on one for over 10+ years.
About myself. I love spooky things (literally anything associated with creepy stuff and Halloween), foods of all kinds, horror (not gore) movies or books, gardening, cooking, soft hiking, outdoors, indoors, rainy days, playing and spending time with my son doing the things he enjoys, spending time with my partner when he's home, watching movies (animated/action/comedy/international including British, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, German, African, the list goes on). I love learning about anything that grabs my attention, and often bug my Google with questions throughout the day. I love Technology, although I'm not always tech. savvy, even though I worked tech. support for over a year. lol Lastly for now, I'm a pretty friendly and open book, somewhat smiley chatty person and may ramble if given the chance. lol
