Centre Director

Hey there! My name is Nikita. My
journey with Oxford Learning has been
an incredible adventure spanning over 12 years. With my Honours Bachelor of Science from York University, my passion for education led me to become the proud owner of the Oxford Learning  Centre in Richmond Hill Elgin Mills.

What I love most about my work is seeing each student's unique journey unfold. Creating a warm, supportive environment where kids can build confidence and tackle challenges is what keeps me going. The joy on their faces when they achieve something new is the absolute best part of my day.

As the owner and Centre Director, I’m deeply involved in everything that happens at the centre. We’ve built an amazing team, and together, we're dedicated to providing the best personalized education possible.

Beyond the centre, I’m an active part of the  Richmond Hill community. I love joining local events and supporting youth initiatives.

I’m really excited about the future and can’t wait to continue this journey of helping students thrive and succeed. This is more than just a job to me—it’s my passion, my joy, and my calling.

Education Coordinator

Hi! My name is Christina. I am a graduate from University of Waterloo majoring in Psychology. I have been teaching ESL for three years and am passionate about teaching. I was an Education Coordinator at a successful learning centre in Hong Kong. I worked with many families to help students improve their English and math. I love interacting with students and helping them to achieve their academic goals. It is always rewarding to see improvements from students! I hope to see you at Oxford!

Education Coordinator and Elementary Teacher

Hi! My name is Gabi and I am a recent graduate from the York University Bachelor of Social Work program. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I took an interest in teaching while gaining experience tutoring and volunteering within various educational environments. I am a strong advocate for children and youth with disabilities and mental health challenges and understand the importance of providing quality education and support to assist with enriching their lives. I am an English teacher and Education Coordinator at Oxford Learning Centre.

I love working at Oxford Learning as I am able to continue creating a positive and stimulating learning environment where students can develop critical thinking skills and gain independence. I plan to pursue a Bachelor of Education in September and continue exploring my passion for teaching and learning.

Math Teacher

Hi! My name is Jhay, and I am a University of Toronto Honours Bachelor of Science graduate with a major in Biology and minors in Psychology and Economics. While in university, I was a youth leader for a Sunday school in Scarborough and also worked as a tutor for a short time. After university, I worked in financial services for three years while also pursuing my CFA designation. Recently, I decided to pursue a career in teaching and am now in the process of applying to teachers' college so that I can eventually become an Ontario school teacher. I greatly enjoy my experience at Oxford Learning, as I am able to assist in the academic and personal achievement of my students!

Ryan Ferguson

Math/Science Teacher

Hello! I am so thankful to have the chance to serve our students in the Oxford Learning community. This very centre was one of my first employment opportunities upon arrival to Canada in 2017, and has held a very special place in my heart ever since. I firmly believe in our independent study skills learning strategy, and regularly incorporate it into our sessions, and I am so honoured to witness our students slowly transform into more confident and capable learners. I am also an Ontario-certified teacher with the York Region District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board. I have two Master's degrees, one from the Master of Teaching program with the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Spanish from the University of New Hampshire. As much as I am able, I participate in professional development opportunities, the last ones being additional qualification courses in Special Education, Teaching English Language Learners, and Primary Education. Prior to teaching in Canada, I earned experience teaching in the United States and Spain as a high school teacher and in Bolivia as a primary teacher. Although I am able to teach all subjects, my niche is language. Looking forward to our time together!

My name is Leila, and I am a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly known as Ryerson University, with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Philosophy.            

I have been teaching English and mathematics at Oxford Learning Centre for four years. The students at Oxford Learning are truly the ones who make working here worthwhile; I hope that I can help impart a passion for English and communication through my teaching.

Hello my name is Abdullah, I am a York university student in my final year as a chemistry undergraduate. I like to read, play video games, and jog outside. I like working at Oxford Learning because it allows me to improve myself as a student and teacher along with my students. I also really like the rewarding feeling that comes along with it. 

Moise

French Teacher

Salut, my name is Moise; I have a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, which is where my passion for teaching began. I attended French school (école française) for most of my life and have a DELF Diploma C1; my parents and siblings are also francophone, so I grew up speaking it at home. I am very excited to continue my teaching journey at Oxford Learning. I enjoy teaching students at Oxford Learning because I get to work with them personally and help them improve in the areas where they might be struggling. I am very proud of my student’s success and constantly strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking risks.

French and Elementary Teacher

Hi! My name is Yara, and I am an English, French and math tutor here at Oxford Learning! I am in my 2nd year Neuroscience and Psychology student at York University. I am hoping to pursue a career in Medicine after I am finished with undergrad. I hope that I am able to take my previous experience in tutoring and make a positive and meaningful space for students to grow and evolve into better versions of themselves! I enjoy working at Oxford Learning because I am able to make a positive impact on my student’s lives as well as foster love and motivation for success.
