Hey there! My name is Nikita. My journey with Oxford Learning has been an incredible adventure spanning over 12 years. With my Honours Bachelor of Science from York University, my passion for education led me to become the proud owner of the Oxford Learning  Centre in Richmond Hill Elgin Mills.

What I love most about my work is seeing each student's unique journey unfold. Creating a warm, supportive environment where kids can build confidence and tackle challenges is what keeps me going. The joy on their faces when they achieve something new is the absolute best part of my day.

As the owner and Centre Director, I’m deeply involved in everything that happens at the centre. We’ve built an amazing team, and together, we're dedicated to providing the best personalized education possible.

Beyond the centre, I’m an active part of the  Richmond Hill community. I love joining local events and supporting youth initiatives.

I’m really excited about the future and can’t wait to continue this journey of helping students thrive and succeed. This is more than just a job to me—it’s my passion, my joy, and my calling.
 

Hi, I’m Sushana! I’m an Education Coordinator with a background in computer programming, and a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Ontario Tech University, where I focus on learning, student development, and my goal of becoming an elementary school teacher.

I’ve spent over seven years working with children through private tutoring, after‑school programs, and summer programs, supporting students of different ages and learning needs as they build their skills, confidence, and independence. I love seeing students become more confident in themselves and their abilities, especially those moments when something challenging finally “clicks.” I believe every student learns differently, so patience, encouragement, and finding the right approach for each learner are at the heart of my teaching. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and continuing to try.

Outside of Oxford Learning, I enjoy biking, baking, and spending time outdoors. Students can expect me to be friendly, supportive, organized, and encouraging, while helping them stay focused and work toward their goals. I hope to help students become more confident, independent learners while making learning feel a little less intimidating along the way.

Hi! My name is Leila. With a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), I bring over six years of teaching experience to Oxford Learning. I have worked with students from kindergarten through high school and taught English Literature at the university level.

I love working with students to help them find a perspective that allows them to build confidence and work hard to achieve their goals. 

I approach teaching and learning with flexibility. What might work for one student may not work for another, and what may seem impossible for you to learn may just need a different approach. It is important to keep an open mind and to ask clear questions, both as a teacher and a learner.

Fun Fact: I am passionate about the use of video games as a narrative form and write articles exploring their uses in higher education. 

Students can expect an energetic session with lots of questions from me, and I expect the same from the students, too.

Hi! I'm Abdullah, a math and science educator with a BSc (Honours) in chemistry with many years of experience working with students from primary school through high school. I specialize in teaching Grade 9–12 math, physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as foundational math and science for younger students.

I believe teaching is a two-way street—every lesson is a chance for both the student and the teacher to learn something new. My goal is to make complex topics more relatable by connecting them to real-world examples and my own learning experiences. I’ve found that this approach not only helps students grasp challenging concepts but also sparks genuine interest in the subject.

You can expect a supportive, down-to-earth, and energetic teacher who’s just as invested in your growth as you are.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me getting lost in a good fantasy or mystery novel.

Hi, I’m Xarnah! I’m an enthusiastic English tutor with an academic background in English and Anthropology from the University of Toronto.  I love inspiring younger students to reach their full potential. With a passion for reading and writing, I bring an engaging and energetic approach to every lesson, making learning both fun and rewarding.

I love connecting with my students through the media they enjoy whether it's books, shows, movies, or games, to get them excited and invested in their learning. I’m dedicated to helping each student build confidence and achieve their goals, one step at a time.

My favourite book is Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters.  My students can always expect a supportive, upbeat atmosphere where I adapt my teaching to meet each learner’s unique needs.

Hi! My name is Carikaalan, and I am a junior and high school math and science teacher. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and Kinesiology at York University. Furthermore, I have many years of experience teaching math and science to K-12 students, and my passion for teaching is rooted in my desire to ensure that all students maximize their learning by utilizing the tools we provide in class. My teaching style is based on an individualized approach, as I consider the strengths and weaknesses of all students to help tailor the teaching strategies to the comfort level of my students.

A fun fact about me is that I love teaching students because there is always a learning opportunity for teachers. My students can expect my sessions to be structured with opportunities to ask questions, engage critically with the material, and ultimately master their learning at the end.

Hi, I'm Meryem! I'm pursuing an English major with a history minor through the concurrent education program at York University. This pathway is preparing me to become an Ontario Certified Teacher, 

I have been tutoring and teaching for several years, working with students from ages 3 to 18. My strengths are teaching English through elementary to high school as well as elementary math.

What inspires me to work with students, become an educator, and support their growth is the opportunity to make a lasting impact on their lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to see students gain confidence, discover their passions, and overcome challenges. For me, education is about more than just teaching; it's about empowering students with curiosity and helping each student realize their potential. Knowing that my guidance can shape someone's future gives me a strong sense of purpose and motivation. 

My teaching philosophy is that no two students are the same, and I believe that every student has the ability to learn, grow, and succeed when given the right support and environment.

Hi! I’m Sania and I teach French, English and math to students of all ages here at Oxford Learning. I am also educated in Robotics and Coding!

I have spoken French since I was five years old growing up in France. When I came to Canada, I went to a full French Montessori school and attended AP French throughout high school! I majored in Psychology at York University, and am looking to pursue a career as a professor in the future.

I hope to create a fun and educational experience for every student who works with me. At my table, I make sure to personalize every lesson to each student to optimize their understanding. I enjoy working at Oxford Learning because of the wonderful students who come in every day. I am looking forward to working together to learn and grow into independent learners! 

Some of my favourite things include reading, video games and drawing. My favourite books are The Hunger Games series.

Hi, I am Jimmy! I teach High School math. I have tutored for 10+ years with 3 years of in-person classroom experience. I have a BA Honours in Mathematics for Education and a BEd for the intermediate/senior stream for math and geography. I love interacting with students and helping them understand difficult concepts and excel in their classrooms. I believe all students are able to succeed in their classrooms, regardless of their prior results. I like to explain concepts with analogies they may relate to and can provide multiple perspectives to different problems. You can expect me to be calm and supportive but most importantly patient with students.

In my free time, I like to play video games, volleyball or workout. I look forward to seeing all future students and hope to help them grow confidence in their math skills!

Hi, I’m Aylin! I’m a Math and English Teacher at Oxford Learning, and I hold a B.A. with Specialized Honors in Applied Mathematics.  I teach math from Grade 1 through Grade 12, and I truly love helping students discover the beauty and logic behind the subject. I’m passionate about encouraging curiosity and excitement in mathematics, and I focus on helping students build a deep understanding of foundational concepts so they can approach computations with confidence and intuition.

For students who don’t immediately see the joys of math, one of my favourite fun facts is the wave equation; it explains the harmony of a plucked guitar string, predicts stock prices, and even models population growth. It’s a perfect example of how math is woven into our everyday lives.

In my sessions, students can expect a welcoming, supportive environment that fosters creativity, encouragement, and a genuine appreciation for learning.

Hi, I’m Mbabazi.  I teach high school science and math up to Grade 10 at Oxford Learning. I hold an IBSc in Biology from York University, and I have more than 5 years of teaching experience, supporting students in English, math, and science. I love teaching because I genuinely love to learn, share knowledge, and help students overcome challenges in subjects they once found difficult. I believe anyone can learn what they set their mind to as time, patience, and the right support make all the difference.

In my lessons, I often teach through pictures and connect concepts to everyday life to make learning feel intuitive and engaging. Outside the classroom, I love music, jokes, fun facts, period pieces, and crafts. Feel free to ask what I’m crocheting this week.
