Hi, I am Ms. Christine! I was born and raised in White Rock. I have 11 years of experience working with children aged newborn to Grade 11. I am currently completing my Special Education Teacher’s Assistant Certificate as of winter 2013. I have always been passionate about working with kids, and I enjoy it so much. They’re so positive and full of energy and to see the light bulb come on and see them excel motivates me to want to work even harder myself. I make certain that each child receives individualized attention, praise and encouragement, ensuring that he/she remains motivated and does not become frustrated and quit. Children are our future so what we teach them, tell them, and what they see matters a whole lot! I strive to make a positive impact on each student I work with and I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to be a teacher at Oxford Learning Centre. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors doing anything active, from snowboarding to hiking as well as shopping! I love animals too; I have always had pets in my household. My goals for the future are, to continue working with students, travel the world, and build and work in schools abroad.

Ms. Esther
Little Readers Teacher
Read More
My name is Esther and it has been my distinct pleasure to take over the morning sessions of the Little Readers program at Oxford Learning. I have an extensive background in child development, dealing with all learning capacities and various challenges. I am going into my 8th year working with terminally ill children and their siblings at Canuck Place Children's Hospice. I have the honour of spending time with these children, as well as getting to know their families in the face of extreme adversity. As well as being trained in adolescent development, my experiences at Canuck Place have taught me that with perseverance and encouragement, any child can do anything they put their mind to. Sometimes they just need a little guidance. First and foremost I am a mother and I have enjoyed raising three quirky, caring, fun loving, and imaginative children. I have learned over the years that children are best taught with patience, persistence, and a lot of fun thrown in to show their true personalities. I look forward to helping your children learn and grow!

My name is Raj Dhillon and I just completed my Bachelor of Education in Secondary Social Studies at UBC in August of this year. Passionate about history and politics from a young age, I decided to pursue a Major in History during my undergraduate studies at Kwantlen. Through my volunteer work at Tamanawis Secondary, I also discovered that I really enjoyed working with children and youth, and making a difference in their lives. As such, I decided to enter the profession of teaching. Being new to the field, I would like to gain more experience working with children of all ages in a teaching setting and this is one reason why I wanted to join the Oxford Learning team. Aside from this, Oxford Learning's philosophy of active learning and enhancing students' self-esteem (and thus their ability to work independently), really appeals to me. Having faced the challenge of teaching diverse classrooms during my practicum, I truly believe in the merit and impact of this philosophy and I'm excited to be a part of it!
